The back to school season is a hectic time and it is easy to
forget that animals are every bit susceptible to the madness as we are. New
routines can be hard for pets, so it is important to schedule things like
feeding, walking and play during times that wont change even when the kids go
back to school. When the kids get home, get them involved with pet activities
such as grooming, which can be a great bonding experience after a long day
apart.
If your pet starts exhibiting signs of separation anxiety or
loneliness, ramping up his mental and physical exercise routine can ease the
transition. Toys stuffed with food are great activities that can keep a pet
occupied for hours. Our Nothing
But Natural™ Jerky Treats are great to keep the calories in check (only 6
calories per treat with all Made in the USA natural ingredients).
For some additional TLC, consider hiring a mobile pet sitter
to stop by and engage with your pet while the family is away. It may also be helpful to go back to
some standard obedience training when school starts. Summer can be lax for pets
as well as kids, and focusing on repetitive commands is a healthy routine your
pet will remember. When in doubt, stick to routines to help your pet survive
the back to school blues.
